In a strategic move to significantly ramp up residents’ registration across Lagos State, the General Manager of the Lagos State Residents Registration Agency (LASRRA), Bilikiss Adebiyi-Abiola held a high-level meeting with the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Mrs. Kikelomo Bolarinwa.
The meeting, which was held in the Conference room of the Ministry at the Secretariat on Thursday, 8th January, 2026 focused on practical strategies to penetrate and leverage the various departments and structures under the Ministry, such as Chieftaincy Affairs, Community Development Associations (CDAs), Traditional Rulers, and Market Boards, to drive widespread residents’ registration at the grassroots level. Discussions at the meeting underscored the critical role of traditional and community institutions in mobilizing residents. Communities.
The General Manager of LASRRA emphasized that the partnership with the Ministry is pivotal to achieving comprehensive coverage of residents’ registration in the state. She noted that traditional rulers, community leaders, and market executives remain trusted gatekeepers within their communities and are therefore essential partners in expanding awareness, access, and participation in the residents’ registration process.
